Muslim Boarding School extended for Indonesian Gays?It’s really been rare that Muslim boarding School would make doors wide open to welcome gay members in their society. Isn’t it? But for Indonesian gays a great pleasure to have access this opportunity, but how?

In Yogyakarta Indonesia, an Indonesian Islamic Boarding School, special program is being established for Muslims gay during the days of Ramadan, known to be the holiest month in Islamic calendars. Mujahadah al-Fatah as the founder changes the normal world of Muslim nations.

Educators in the boarding school are doing this program having an aim to extend some help to those gay persons to learn more about their faith with the hope that upon doing so, they would realize everything in life and would start living as an ordinary men. They emphasize in Allah’s guidance and faith everything’s they would want to change would happen.

Though Mujahadah al-Fatah has been doing this activity for about 10 years. Still most of the other Islamic Boarding School bans this kind of doings. They called this as “waria,” this is the combination of male and female, an Indonesian word.

Classes are set-up accordingly in twice-a-week classes during Ramadan. These lessons are all about the importance of ceasing on drinks, food and sex during daylight hours. In every year there were more than 20 gays are attending.

If in times you would see gay seems like women wearing headscarves upon reciting the Koran, practicing their faith in Islamic school in the holy month of Ramadan, then that’s it! They are the students who wants alleviate in religion.

During prayers, as required by the Islam policy, most of the students are wearing loose-fitting clothes that could cover their whole body. But gay are wearing sarong and cap, attire for an Indonesian man. And in this way, gay would only goes to show heir dedication to change with the help of Allah.
