A Part of Zain Uganda’s Build Our Nation Education Campaign

A Part of Zain Uganda’s Build Our Nation Education CampaignArmy Boarding Primary School is a boarding school that gives support on military’s children and orphans as well. The boarding school falls on two ministries: the Sports and Education and Defense Mechanics. The school holds 858 girls and 953 boys, which are also receiving gifts from some charitable institutions. These young children were also depending a lot on the welfare and support of the school to keep them going. This had given the school big responsibility to carry all the children in its hands from which they operate educational entities and a welfare institution for the other children.

Just lately, Army Boarding School had just received a donation of 200 textbooks from Zain Uganda’s Build Our Nation Education Campaign. The books were given as Zain launched a 3rd phase with their campaign with which, over 80 schools across 80 districts of Uganda would also get the benefits of the scholastic materials.

Mr. Jonathan Musomoka, the headmaster for the Army Baording Primary School, noted that the school really needs textbooks and these 200 textbooks that they had received is indeed a great help. This may somehow encourage students to improve their learning culture somehow.

In every district, at least one school is being given the assorted textbooks particular to the subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. From the start of launching the program in 2006, Zain Uganda’s Build Our Nation Education Campaign had already delivered 8,000 textbooks, which is worth of 380 Million shillings to 140 schools across the country in the phases of its program.

Most of the recruiting analyst emphasizes that for the coming years that could maybe lead to forever, best high school players aren’t be coming to most of the public high schools.

Players like Shavlik Randolph of Broughton and Eric Williams of Wake Forest-Rolesville is said to be rare in entering North Carolina public high school instead earning McDonalds All the American honors. Like best players in New York, usually play for team such as All Hallows, Christ the King, Rice and Bishop Molloy.

This scenario has becoming the trend nowadays, begin in public school and then in the later part, transfer at the boarding schools or begin in a private school to start with.

Gibbons has given the top reasons on such trends. First, “Academic concerns and the promise of smaller classes with more personal attention also figure in as well.” And “Private schools also often have the luxury of welcoming proven players.” Then, “North Carolina private schools have different eligibility rules.” NCHSAA players are eligible for eight semesters after ninth grade has been taken. They don’t pursue on a four-year or eight-semester rule, but uses an age limit instead.

Gibbons’ list of top are in North Carolina are as follows, Ravenscroft’s 6-foot-10 Ryan Kelly (a Duke recruit), Asheville Christ School’s 6-11 Mason Plumlee (Duke), Charlotte Latin’s 6-8 David Chadwick (Washington State), Christ School’s 6-5 Lakeem.

Private schools are giving more publicity to those best players as time run-through.

State Boarding Schools: Keeping Students

Keeping StudentsState Boarding Schools were now undergoing for a revival. Now, government funding finally gives huge demand for places at state-run boarding schools. There are already 35 state schools with boarding facilities and 22 are offering students to board during the week only. State school cost less compared to private sectors with only £7,000 per year, which is equivalent to only 1 term in the private sector.

Hilary Moriarty, the National Director of Boarding Schools Association, says “In general the demand is because boarding suits modern parents.”

“If both parents work long hours, perhaps with frequent business trips abroad, who looks after the children?”

Moriarty believes that parents sees better picture on sending their kids in the state boarding sectors.

State Boarding schools has the good result with a great capability of giving students strong academics and training. Students were also able to learn not just with their academic fields but students were also socially developed wherein they are able to socialize, counteract with other people and make friends.

Malcolm Lloyd, the Chair of the SBSA and head of Brymore School in Somerset has also been a boarder and according to him, being a boarder teaches him to make bed in the hospital corners, clean his shoes, get with other people 24 hours a day, speak in the public and organize himself. He says, “I was also able to excel at sport and make friends for life.”

Brymore actually is in danger of closing but then, the school had just received £3.4m intended to build new boarding accommodation.

It has been worked out for state schools to have better facilities to help vulnerable children. In fact, the Department for Children, Schools and Families has just announced that they are making £10m available fund for the next 3 years to support the expansion of state boarding.

Leads to the Boarding Schools lockdown

October 22, Boarding Schools of Aurora high school and Rootstown schools were receiving calls on gun threat in which safety of children is being forewarned. In this connection, the school yesterday had been locked down near the end of the school day to provide safety to all, may that call be true or a prank one.

Andrew Hawkins, Rootstown’s Superintendent, received the call around 2:30pm, and acclaimed that somebody would be coming to schools with a gun. This made him go panic and call the sheriff office asking for assistance.

Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley had immediately sent sheriffs deputies and detectives to Rootstown School who are acting like a students and put the safety of students upon giving boarded buses and sent home.

There were 600 elementary students as an approximate who will be dismissed at 3pm as normal classes. And most of the high school and middle class students were gone at that instance for they have been dismissed as their normal classes around 2:10pm.

Hawkins declared that normal classes would be this Thursday, today, while the incident is under investigation.

On the other hand, Aurora high school experienced same incident 5 minutes after classes have been dismissed.

”It was an adult male, we believe from the tone of the voice,” said Russ Bennett, the district’s superintendent. ”It appears to be a crank call, but the police are investigating that,” he added.

The two boarding schools all said that it was a prank call, how about if not? They are considering the safety of children most as what they are saying, how could they declare that today, normal classes will be established when the incident is under investigation? This would be the possibility that must also be considered.

Boarding Schools as Hotels: Great Enough for Parents

Great Enough for ParentsMostly, a student who gets a far distance from school suffers homesickness and doesn’t even feel comfortable being away from the family. Well, such of this situation is really hard for students and parents. Students who got a 5 days school could only be home in weekends and got to miss his family during school days. Schools are looking some means on how to solve this problem and definitely, as being pictured effective, schools might have turn to be like hotels.

Flexi-Boarding has now become popular with private schools. It allows students and parents who commute from far distance to use schools as hotels paying £25 a night several times a week. Other school like the Holmwood House Preparatory in Colchester, Essex allocates free beds by having a weekly draw to those who wanted to stay.

According to the Boarding School’s Association, there are more than 4 out of 10 students who live less than an our away from school with nearly three quarters from homes under an hour and a half’s drive away.

There are 67,000 boarders with the 1,272 registered UK schools in the Independent Schools Council and only 0.4 percent only had rise on the last year.

Head masters of several schools gave chances to busy working parents who still want to see their children by crediting the FLEXI-BOARDING. For them, hotel-style stays eliminate parent’s guilt upon sending their child into a boarding school.

The BSA chief executive, Hilary Moriarty says, “At the dinner table, when shocked mothers say, and ‘You didn’t send your child to boarding school did you?’; parents can say ‘yes, and I’ve seen them twice this week already’, Your conscience is perfectly clear.

Queen’s Elizabeth Boarding School: demands $851 000 cash

demands $851 000 cashAt Harare, Queen’s Elizabeth Boarding School is demanding for their student to pay worth of cash with an amount of $851 000. This is an addition with those $204 000 that has been paid at the beginning of the term.

For 400 students in the said boarding school, there were only less than 100 that could attend the class this coming Monday. Parents were only given chances until this Friday to pay the given specific amount, or else face the consequence upon making one child being expelled at the given school. Boarding School also didn’t accepting bank checks or any form on transfer of payment, they only need cash, for accordingly, they needed the cash to buy foods for the student.

Parents express their sentiments to the Boarding School but things didn’t work out as long as they could pay the desired amount. The First Boarding School in Baltimore

A boarding school is a kind of school wherein students doesn’t just study but then student also live during their period of study. Students in a boarding school were also provided with food and lodging. This makes sense with how boarding schools like. Well, there are also different types of boarding school. There are boarding schools, which are exclusive only for girls, others are exclusive only for boys and there are also several boarding schools that are open for boys and girls. Boarding Schools were very common only to the United States but some countries were already opening boarding schools in different levels.

The First Boarding School in BaltimoreMaryland had just opened its first boarding school at Baltimore City, the SEED School. The boarding school holds its first eighty students whom are all grade six students. SEED School is housed on the 52 acres site of what used to be Southwestern High School.

Tim Tooten, who was a news education reporter at WBAL TV took a tour on the school. He had asked several students about the school. Another student, Malik Cross, says, “It’s kind of fun because we get to talk to our friends. We get to go in each others dorm. Sometimes if we don’t, either way we get to talk to each other and learn more about each other each day.”

Jourdynn Dickerson, a student, says, “It’s really different because I’m learning a whole bunch of stuff I never really knew in elementary school.”

The first eighty students came from the twelve different school districts of Maryland and were there by choice. From the 300 applicants, eighty were being selected across the state to avail the free and reduced-price lunches. The tuition fee of the school ranges $34,000 per year but is being paid by the state and local education dollars and private donations.

The school head, Dawn Lewis, said, “I think the big difference is the idea that we are reinforcing learning on a 24 hour basis. The principles which are taught here aren’t just taught from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. They are taught 24 hours a day.

The students were already getting over their homesickness and will be allowed going home during weekends since the school has a staff and student dormitory. Well, it is a good opportunity for the 80 students to get into SEED. It would certainly give them an opportunity to get into college and somehow achieve a better future someday.
